The biggest rewards come to those who have the courage to accept the difficult tasks without complaint, to take risks, and to do the things that others find too uncomfortable.

If you want things in your life to change, you're going to have to change things in your life!!!

Things are never as difficult as you thought, once you get started!!

Phase 2

Phase 1 has come to an end.  I did this phase for about a month and a half.  I lost about 8 pounds during this time.  It was pretty easy and pretty close to how I already eat.  This is what I could not have for the first phase.
  • Any dairy product
  • Any wheat product  (I am already gluten free!!!)
  • Any refined sugar  (I only use stevia)
  • Non-organic fruits or vegetables on the "dirty dozen list"  (I am already 100% organic)
  • Any animal product that is not organic  (already done)
  • Any alcohol product

There were 2 hard things for me to change.  I had to make breakfast my biggest meal which was usually my smallest and I had to start drinking around a gallon of water a day.

Now onto Phase 2.  This is where you do the injections.  This morning was my first injection of hCG.  I'm not going to lie and say I wasn't nervous.  In fact for the past couple days I was freaking out thinking of giving myself a shot.  Last night I could barely sleep knowing that when I wake up, I will be giving myself a shot.  So how was it??  It was actually very easy and painless.  I was so shocked and happy at the same time.  haha  I even had to double look to make sure the needle was actually in me.  haha

I will be doing the injections for 23 days.  The first two days you must eat as much food as you can.  You have to eat between 5000 to 10,000 calories.  By eating this many calories you are basically telling your body it's not starving, there is more than enough nourishment available and it is ok to dump the stored fat.  The rest of the days you eat 500 calories and a strict diet of certain proteins, fruits and vegetables.

So far today as been great.  I feel great even though I am so full.  It has been a challenge to eat a ton of calories being Organic Gluten Free.  An example:  a whole cake is only 1200 calories...Yes...a whole cake.  haha  This morning I weighed in at 139.4 lbs.  I will keep you updated with my weightloss!!!

Success Story

One of my favorite blogs Organic Size Me asked for real life stories from readers who have experienced health changes due to changing their diets.   This is the story I sent in.

Hi Organicsizeme:

This is one of my favorite success stories about changing my food.

Around the time I turned 18 I started becoming allergic to raw-fresh fruit and vegetables.  It all started with cantaloupe.  I remember eating it and about 10 minutes later my throat and ears were itching.  I wasn't sure why I was feeling like this since I have always eaten this.  The next day I had some more and the same thing happened.  I then realized I was allergic to cantaloupe.

During the next year, I began to become allergic to every fruit and vegetable if it was not cooked.  I could not eat carrots with ranch....or grapes or strawberries.  I couldn't eat apples or cucumbers.  I felt horrible about not being able to eat fresh fruits and vegetables but it was not worth the allergic reaction it caused me so I stopped eating all of it.  A lot of people didn't believe me when I told them, they would say...oh you are allergic to healthy items but not chocolate...interesting.

I lived this way for almost 15 years until I went Organic.  I tried my first Organic apple and my body did not get an allergic reaction.  I was stunned.  I then tried an orange...then carrots.  Still no allergic reaction.  I became so excited!  I went and bought every organic fruit and veggie I could find and was able to eat everything.

I am able to eat any Raw-Fresh Organic fruit and vegetables.  They have to be Organic.  I believe the allergic reaction I was having to the fruit and vegetables were from the pesticides, the chemicals, GMO, any of the unnatural things that were done to the fruit and vegetables, not the actual fruit and vegetables themselves.  It has been such a wonderful change of life.  Oh how I have missed raw fruit and veggies!!!

Health

Health is a state of complete physical, mental,
and social well-being and not merely the
absence of disease and infirmity.....
World Health Organization

When I started out on this wonderful new journey I thought to be healthy it meant your body was disease free or you didn't get sick all the time but now I think to become completely healthy you need to look at all aspects of yourself. This is your body....your mind....and your well-being. I believe it is all connected and each part of yourself will affect the other either good or bad.

Lets talk about our physical body...
Your body was made to be healthy. Every organ, tissue, etc is there to have your body work correctly. It wasn't a mistake you have a gallbladder. Ha-Ha Everything is there to function together as a team to keep you healthy. By eating good food and drinking good water it will help aide your body to be and stay healthy. Of course there is a lot more you can do to help your body but we will get into that later.

Lets talk about our mind.....
I believe our thoughts affect our body. If we are always saying how sick we are or are so worried of getting a disease and always thinking about it, our body will start becoming that. Its like getting actual toxins and putting it into our body. Horrible thoughts are toxic. So one of our New Years resolution was to think happy/positive thoughts about our health.

Lets talk about our well-being.....
I believe well-being is your feelings.  You need to feel happy now no matter where you are in life.  By being happy your body will feel better.  Your mood and feelings will change and become positive.  Everything in your life will be more fulfilling.

Do you feel that by changing what you eat, how you feel, and what you think about would have a great change in you?  Do you believe it is all connected?  I bet changing one of these things in your life will carry over to the other things.  I believe this because some of this has already happened to me.  As most of you know I am not a huge cleaner..my home was always kept neat and clean but it wasn't organized or super duper clean.  By changing what I ate, I became happier and my home became cleaner and much more organized.  I did not expect this to happen...I just wanted to eat better and now I am an organized homemaker.  How great is that?????
